Frequently asked questions
How to use Tavaralainaamo?
Currently, there are 24/7 Liiteri self-service points in the Helsinki metropolitan area in Espoo (Matinkylä), Vantaa (Kivistö), and you can also borrow items from our office in Helsinki (Kalasatama) during office hours.
We are happy to set up new Liiteri self-service points wherever there are enough users. Send us feedback and tell us where you would like Liiteri to be set up, and how many others you know are already interested in it in your area.
We are also happy to deliver Liiteri to your workplace, so talk to your colleagues about it and suggest it to your managers. It doesn't cost any more than a company travel ticket or company bike service, but it brings many benefits to all employees - including those who drive.
How can I borrow items?
Register for the service by creating an account, verify your email address (click the link in the email you received), and perform strong authentication using your bank credentials.
Buy a monthly package (or use the coupon code you received). You can also rent products one-time for an hourly fee.
Select the item you want from the Liiteri you want, click to display additional information, and select the desired day and number of hours (max 48 hours) from the booking calendar - Liiteri is open 24/7. Note: the availability of the device may vary depending on the Liiteri self-service point.
Pay for your reservation (monthly subscribers make a reservation like for a one-time rental, but the amount will be 0€ at the payment stage)
Pick up the item you reserved, use it, and return it to the same Liiteri from which you picked it up.
How do I get into Liiter? How do I pick up my goods?
You can enter the Liiteri self-service point to pick up the item you have reserved 15 minutes before the start of the loan period. The device must have an internet connection.
When you are picking up or returning the device, a button will appear in the top right corner of the service home page to open the door to the “My current reservations” view. When you are in the “My current reservations” view, select the Liiteri from which you have reserved the item or items from the drop-down menu on the left. By pressing the green button in the “Pickup” menu on the right side of the view, you will open the Liiteri door.
Before the door opens, you will be asked to confirm that you are picking up or returning the item (and that it is not an accidental press, e.g. on the couch at home) and will be reminded to check the condition of the item when picking it up, and to notify our customer service if you notice a fault in the device during pick-up or commissioning. Failure to notify may make you liable for any damage caused by the previous customer. Note: do not let other people in, as you are responsible for everything that happens in the Liiter once you have opened the door (and until you have left the Liiter and the door is locked again).
Returning goods works in the same way and you can return them at any time during the validity of the reservation.
Door opening instructions will also be sent to the user by email.
How expensive is it to borrow goods?
Using a rental shop is always cheaper than buying your own closets full of equipment, tools and other goods for thousands of euros. You can borrow goods from Liiteri with a one-time rental or by purchasing a monthly membership. The aim is to make one-time rentals more affordable than other rental services, and you will also save travel time and costs if you use a nearby Liiteri.
But it is even cheaper to purchase a monthly membership, or the Helppo arki package, which allows you to borrow goods from all Liiteri for an unlimited period. So for the price of a one-time rental of one device, you get access to all devices for the whole month! As a monthly subscriber, Liiteri becomes your own library of goods.
In addition, we cooperate with several local operators, and through them you can get up to 50% discounts on one-time rentals or monthly packages - as an introductory offer or more permanently, i.e. until further notice.
What devices can I use Tavaralainaamo with?
Tavaralainaamo works through a browser on all devices at Liiteri.net, but for active use it is easier to install the Liiteri app. The Android app currently works on older devices, and we are updating it to support all phones. The iPhone app works normally.
What payment methods does the service support?
You can pay for a one-time rental or a monthly package with either a credit or debit card. We use the reliable Stripe payment service for payment, so we do not store your card details ourselves.
How do I cancel my monthly package subscription? Will I still have to pay anything after canceling?
To cancel your monthly subscription, click the Cancel Subscription button on your User Profile page.
You will no longer be billed after this, and your subscription will end at the end of the current month's payment period.
What is the maximum loan period for items? Can they be returned early?
The maximum loan period for each item is 48 hours. You can return the item during your entire loan period.
Does the monthly package and one-time rental work at all Liiter locations?
Yes, you can reserve and pick up all devices in the service from all Liiteri locations in use with the same username.
Instructions for use of goods
Spray extraction cleaner (Kaercher Puzzi 8/1)
First check that the hoses are closed. In the basic case, use is simple:
Fill the white container with clean water to the "MAX" mark and add 2 dl of detergent
Pour the cleaning solution into the water tank under the handle and put the container back in place
Switch the vacuum cleaner on using the yellow vacuum button
Spray water from the handle trigger or the cleaning solution from the yellow shower button
When washing, it is a good idea to pull the handle towards you so that the water is sucked into the vacuum cleaner after washing
When you have washed, pour the dirty water from the white container into the toilet
Pour 2 liters of clean water from the water container into the water tank under the handle
Empty the water tank into the toilet and let the device dry
Check that all parts are included when you return the device.
Note: cleaning solution may drip from the attachment point of the device and hose onto the floor and splash into the environment from the washing point. If necessary, protect the areas and have a dry rag nearby.
